Hogholm Stables is the only yard in Scotland to be awarded BHS Approved Yard & Facility Hire ‘Highly Commended’ and ‘Outstanding Performance’ status in 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010.

Run by riders for riders, Hogholm Stables is conveniently located only 2½ miles from Kintore and Inverurie, and 15 miles from Aberdeen city centre. Sited in beautiful countryside with wonderful views of Bennachie and the rolling Garioch landscape, the yard offers easy access to all the main competition centres in North East Scotland.

Competition-standard facilities are complemented by experienced, friendly staff, who hold either BHS or British Grooms Association qualifications. The owners, Lorna Anderson and Steve Redgrave, live on site, which – together with a CCTV security system – gives clients peace of mind that their horses live on a professionally-run secure yard with 24/7 cover.

We aim to offer an environment where horses – and their owners - can gain confidence from an established routine, having fun in a safe environment. We’re happy to advise on purchase, saddlery, training and soundness issues; when the problem is out-with our remit we will suggest appropriate practitioners.

Available on-site are riding/lunge lessons, horse training/lunging, round pen work, saddle-fitting, Equissage hire, ARC Equine Unit hire, clipping, and regular flatwork and jumping clinics.
